SPARK members, Angelina Whitehead and Ryan Johnson, sang the inspirational song “Brighter” for this music video filmed in NYC. Chosen for its fun dance beat and uplifting message, the song contrasts Christ's light with any other light we know. Johnson, a trained Hip-hop dancer says, "Times Square, with its thousands of LED signs, was the perfect backdrop for the message of this song. While dancing among the crowds, I kept thinking how lucky I am to know of God's light and love in this crazy, busy world."
It was a first-time visit to NYC for Whitehead, who was age 15 at the time of filming. She remembers, "We filmed in Times Square, on top of the Rockefeller Center, and next to the Brooklyn Bridge. Everywhere we performed, I contemplated the message of the song and how people might be receiving it. It was fun to sing about Jesus Christ in a huge city with mixed cultures and religious beliefs." Johnson added, "Unlike the city lights, the light of Jesus Christ is real, not artificial, and it will last forever and will never go dim. His light doesn't produce strobing excitement, rather, it produces peace, hope and perfect illumination for our darkening world. I hope when people watch our video it will give them a perspective of what is most important in our journey here. It's all about God, Jesus, and family."
